ABOUT ME
MADISON FARWELL
Arizona Athletics Intern
Hello! My name is Madison Farwell, and I am a student photo intern for Arizona Athletics. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Journalism from the University of Arizona and will be graduating in May 2026. I received a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Arizona in 2025.
I am originally from Belton, Texas, where I grew up playing soccer and dancing competitively. I began photography in high school, leading me to continue my passion into collegiate sports.
I began working for Arizona Athletics as a freshman in 2021 while I began my studies as a Neuroscience major and Journalism minor. I was awarded the Spring 2023 Drew Gyorke Photojournalism Award and 2023 J.Y. Bryan Prize for Interpretive Photography by the School of Journalism.
I graduated from the W.A. Franke Honors College, completing my thesis on sport psychology. The project blends scientific and historical analysis with storytelling and visual documentation, focusing on how mental health, performance, and media representation converge in athletic environments.
In my free time, I like to read, play with my cats, take walks, and watch soccer.
